Specialty Care
There are a variety of Class III specialty care types for residential care and nursing home facilities. Adult specialty care may require 24 hour awake care to provide round the clock care and safety for those in need of Ventialtor, Alzheimer's or Dementia Care.
Residential Care and assisted living care facilities may have registered nurses, LPNs, certified nurse assistants, Nurse Delegation, Hospice Care and more. It requires additional certification and licensing which many homes and facilities have.
These type of facilities often provide care through end of life as well. All facilities are pre- qualified before tours are arranged. Higher classifications also require a greater amount of training for the primary adminstrator and their staff.
Alzheimer's & Dementia Care
This type of care if for seniors with memory impairment. This may range from simply forgetting and wandering off occassionally to losing capacity to communicate at all. In addition to basic care, constant supervision and 24/7 secured facilities are necessary for the saftey of your loved one. In many states
Convalescent Care
Skilled Nursing Facilities or Convalescent Care facilities are exactly that.
They are medically supervised recuperation or treatment of acute diesease for post operative or post hospitalization therapy. They are desgined for short term stays to imporve a patient's ability to return to their prior state or move to a long term care facility.
An example of who should be in a convalescent care home is someone who perhaps broke a leg or hip, had major surgery and needs additional skilled nursing care, but not hospitalization.
Assisted Living
Assisted living facilities are typically for individuals over the age of 60, who want to live as independently as possible. It serves to bridge the gap between total independent living and residential or nursing home care.
It is not an alternative to full medical care facilities, but is appropriate for many aging seniors. Residents are often provided with shared support services such as transportation, social and recreational activities.
Facilitiy size ranges from 15 to 300 residents.
