Residential Care Facilites for the Elderly and Adult Family Homes provide a higher level of assistance than assisted living care facilities.

RCFEs and AFHs are licensed by the state and provide a more intimate home-like envrionment than traditional rest homes or nursing homes. They may have private or shared bedrooms and private or shared bathrooms. Common areas are shared

Typical care includes transfers in and out bed, bathing, help with personal hygeine, meals, dressing and more activites of daily living. Advanced care can also include nurse delegation, 24 hours awake staff, dementia and other specialty care.

Daily activities are carried out in small group settings. Many have in home beauty services, physician transportation, prescription pick up and depending on the level of care, field trips.
